Red Ribbon Club, Fazl Ali College organised an awareness program on the 19th of August for the First Semester students with Dr. Kilangwapang, Medicine Specialist, Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung as the resource person. 
The program was organised to sensitize and educate the young people who are considered to be more prone to the disease. On the occasion the Vice Principal, Mr. Vinod Kumar gave a warm welcome note and  I. Yashikala Jamir, Nodal Officer, RRC highlighted the purpose of the formation of RRC and the initiatives undertaken to spread awareness in sensitizing and educating the young minds about HIV/AIDS. 
The Resource Person Dr. Kilangwapang highlighted on how HIV/AIDS pandemic has been around for more than forty years and because of high mutation of the virus, being one of the reasons, the vaccine has not been found. He emphasised on the symptoms, ways to prevent the disease and encouraged not to discriminate or stigmatise the infected people. He also asserted that this incurable infectious disease is easier to be transmitted from a male to female and how young females are more vulnerable to acquire the disease/virus. However, despite of all its woes he ended with a positive remark that with the availability of medicine/drug HIV patients can still live a normal life. 
The Principal I. Wati Imchen on the occasion gave away the prizes to the winners of painting and essay competition which was initiated by RRC as part of the awareness program.
